True Spiritual Light
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing; the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63
The religious mediums that appeal to the natural man, are not that which leads him to see the truth of God. Rather, they are just the substitutes of man’s fancy that supplant the needed search for God’s way.
Satan has adopted religion that appeals to human nature as his means of diverting people from the truth of God. He works to give man an invigorating religious experience that will supersede any and all concerns about seeking unto the truth of God, that lies beyond what appeals to fleshly interests.
Man is not converted to Christ by what he can see, but only that which God reveals unto him. Religion that appeals to the human eye is fleshly, while it takes the quickening by the Holy Spirit to produce that which is of God. While what man sees with his eye may stir his fleshly passions, it is not the same as that which affords real spiritual light.
God uses the preaching of His Word to manifest true spiritual light and understanding to man, 1 Corinthians 1:21. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17. God uses the incorruptible seed of His Word to quicken those who believe, 1 Peter 1:23. And all the while this is working, that which is appealing to the interests of the fleshly man, religiously speaking, will be warring against that which is the working of the Holy Spirit, Galatians 5:17.
What is it that is significant about the gospel, i.e., the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, according to the scriptures, that makes it the power of God unto salvation, to everyone that believeth? (Romans 1:16, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Is it the visible circumstances of the crucifixion event? If so, what about all the other people crucified by this form of punishment administered by the Roman government of that day? Many others suffered he same death experience.
That which made Christ’s death on the cross the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, is that which could not be seen by the physical eye. It was when God laid the guilt of all the sins of all mankind upon Christ, and then He died for our sins only. Thus, when His blood was shed, it was shed for the atonement of the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2.
The gospel truth is only conveyed by the preaching of God’s Word, that reveals that which lies beyond anything that the human eye can see. What the eye sees produces human emotions. What the preaching of God’s Word produces is unto repentance and saving faith that exists by the power of God, not the strength of human passions of the flesh.

Salvation is not about what we profess outwardly, but about what God brings to pass inwardly for the sinner who turns from sin and self unto God for salvation.
Knowledge of the Bible may just become no more than a mental form of belief of the facts, such as, “I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins, so that makes me a Christian.” But the Devils also believe and tremble! They believe in what they know to be so about Jesus Christ, that He died on the cross, that He is the Son of God, etc., etc., but this kind of belief is not what saving faith is all about. God saves based on what He sees in the heart, “heart belief” (Romans 10:10). God saves the lost sinner, who under the convicting power of the Holy Spirit, turns completely from sin and self unto Jesus Christ to save him and to make him alive unto God. It is heart belief unto salvation, not just mental consent unto presumption.

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:24,33
How are you doing so far with these fundamentals of service to the Master?
Have you come out strong and determined, or have you faltered at the starting gate?
Are your eyes focused on the Lord, or have other distractions side tracked you?
Have you re-affirmed your commitments to the Lord, or have you allowed compromise to overtake you?
Have you established yourself in “seeking first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness” or have you let that slide in order to please self and others?
Have you let the Holy Spirit impress upon you the urgent need to “be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might…and having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6:10,13), or have you allowed your convictions to relax unto doing what is convenient in the flesh?
Have you strengthened your vigilance to be on guard against the wiles of the Devil from creeping into your considerations, evaluations, and decisions?
Have you sanctified your thinking about the danger of allowing the leaven of compromise to set in, knowing that a little leaven eventually leavens the whole lump?
Are you resolved to fight the good fight of faith, knowing there is no way to allow negligence, without suffering consequences for having done so?
Is your heart fixed and are your affections set on things above?
Does your respect for “the recompense of the reward” (Hebrews 11:24-26) overrule other considerations in the choices you make?
Are you willing to forsake all, to be the Lord’s disciple? “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:26-27.
SHARINGThe Truth Is A Must
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24
To be without the truth of God’s Word, is to be without the authority of God. It is to be without faith, as faith comes by hearing the word of God, Romans 10:17. It is also to give credibility to lies, as no lie is of the truth, 1 John 2:2.
We are commanded to preach the Word (what is written in God’s Word), 2 Timothy 4:1. We are commanded to teach people to observe the words of Christ, Matthew 28:20. To not believe the record that God states, is to call God a liar, 1 John 5:10-11.
Moses disqualified himself from leading the nation of Israel into the promised land, because his varying from what God’s Word said was a failure to sanctify God in the eyes of the people, Numbers 20:12. King Saul lost his throne (1 Samuel 15) for not following the detailed specifics of God’s Word. The prophet in 1 Kings 13 was slain by a God sent lion for deviating from the Word of God.
Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for transgressing the commandment of God by their tradition, Matthew 15:3. He further declared that the holding to tradition instead of the truth is not only vain worship (Matthew 15:9), but is also the hypocrisy of lip service, instead of having their hearts right with God (Matthew 15:7-8).
Jesus gave one sign that is the truth of the gospel: “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” Matthew 12:40 WHY NOT BELIEVE HIM???
Are there three days and three nights from Friday afternoon to before sunrise Sunday morning? NO!
To observe Friday as the crucifixion day is not worshipping in truth. It is exalting a lie above the truth. It is denying the Word of God. It is not believing the record of God, which is to call God a liar. It is not preaching the Word. It is teaching people to deny, rather than to observe, the words of Christ (what a precedent!). The observance of Friday as the crucifixion day not only boldly denies the truth of Christ, it is also a form of godliness that denies the power (authority) of God, 2 Timothy 3:5 “…from such turn away.”
The rejection of Christ’s word (Matthew 12:40) is very telling. The justification of that which differed from the truth is how the fall of man came about, Genesis 3:1-6. “Prove all things.”
SHARINGSatan’s Power To Devour
Satan entered Judas (Luke 22:3) because Judas yielded through his decisions. Judas did not die possessed by Satan, he rather died as one defeated and devoured by Satan through his transgression, Matthew 27:3-5.
If the Devil cannot devour a saved person because they are indwelled by the Holy Spirit, then there would be no need of God warning against this happening, see 1 Peter 5:8.
Devils don’t destroy themselves, they seek to devour others, especially God’s children. If Judas had been some Satanic being incarnate in human flesh (which there are none), then why would he go out and destroy himself after he had successfully betrayed Christ? He would have rather rejoiced with Christ’s enemies. Plus, had Judas been some demon incarnated into human form, to destroy his human body would not have brought about his perdition, but just released him from bodily confinement.
The Devil cannot deceive and ruin a child of God in innocence before God, see 1 Corinthians 10:13. God will not allow it. But a Christian can yield to temptation,, temptation will conceive and bring forth sin, and “…sin when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” James 1:14-15. All of this can and does happen to saved people who yield to sin, even when indwelled by the Holy Spirit. This is clearly seen in Judas’ case. Being indwelled by the Holy Spirit does not sanctify us in the flesh to the extent that we cannot yield ourselves unto Satan as he tempts us to sin.
Judas had not been resisting temptation, but had rather been yielding to temptation on a rather regular (backslidden) basis, before his sin brought forth his death.
John 12:6 Judas had been yielding to temptation to steal for some time, being very deceitful about it, all by choice. He also had other spiritual problems: John 6:70 “a devil” = a descriptive word, in this case, “diabolos”, meaning “an accuser, a slanderer”. Judas, by choice, let himself think and say things about others, in a way that yielding unto the Devil would bring forth.
King Saul yielded himself unto temptation to sin, and when his sin finished, it brought forth his death. His yielding “quenched” the Holy Spirit.
Ananias and Sapphira (both indwelled by the Holy Spirit) yielded themselves to Satan by their decision, thus allowing Satan to fill their heart to lie to the Holy Ghost (Acts 5:3-5) and their sin brought forth their death.
Not by innocence, but due to yielding, Satan can both enter and fill the heart of a child of God, who is indwelled by the Holy Spirit, quenching the Holy Spirit, and motivating them to commit terrible sin, even unto their own self destruction (perdition). BEWARE!
