SO, YOU’VE BEEN INVITED TO GOD’S HOUSE!
WHY DO YOU SUPPOSE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO YOU?
~Did you just unfortunately get caught by those church people?
~Do you think it would have been so much easier for you to have been able to avoid them?
~Or do you suppose they were doing God’s business – on your behalf? “And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” Luke 14:23
~Perhaps, in a sense, they are God’s way of caring for your needs – reminding and encouraging you – trying to get you to do something for yourself, that you need to do, but won’t do on your own?
WHAT IS YOUR DISPOSITION ABOUT GOING TO GOD’S HOUSE?
“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1
~Are you glad for the invitation?
~Do you know you ought to, but you are going to yield to the hindrances and not go now?
~Is your heart indifferent to God’s invitation, to where you just do not care, one way or the other?
All of the invitations in this world can avail nothing, unless you will to accept them.
The tragic part about rejecting God’s invitation, is that it can very well end up in God rejecting us!
THERE ARE REASONS WHY PEOPLE DO NOT RESPOND TO GOD’S BIDDING TO COME TO HIS HOUSE.
~Just like there are reasons people do not do other things they know they should, and then live or die with the regret of these things not having been done.
BUT THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER FACTOR INVOLVED IN NOT OBEYING GOD…
~The fact that – “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
~Add to the fact that we neglect doing the things we should unto the fact that: “there is none that understandeth, none that seeketh after God (Romans 3:11) and it is very easy to explain why people do not hearken to God’s will.
THE REALITY OF MAN’S SIN CONDITION BEFORE GOD IS THAT MAN, BEING A SINNER BY NATURE, IS ALSO THE ENEMY OF GOD, OPPOSED TO GOD’S WAY FOR HIS LIFE. Romans 5:6-12
~Thus, God’s Word Declares:
“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.” Acts 17:30
~The sin problem of man is that he needs to be saved from his sin condition, that which he cannot do himself. There is only One person who has the power to save the sinner from his sin condition, JESUS. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” John 1:12
AS A LOST SINNER, HAVE YOU EVER TRUSTED CHRIST TO SAVE YOU?
